What is RPA?

What is Blue Prism?
Blue Prism is built on the Microsoft .NET Framework. It automates any application and supports any platform (mainframe, Windows, WPF, Java, web, etc.) presented in a variety of ways (terminal emulator, thick client, thin client, web browser, Citrix and web services). It has been designed for a multi-environment deployment model (development, test, staging, and production) with both physical and logical access controls. Blue Prism supports regulatory contexts such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA and SOX, with a large number of controls in place to provide the necessary security and governance.
How Blue Prism works in different applications?
Here is a simple example about how the call centre operator manage customer’s shipping cost and proceed to plan an order. In this process, call centre operator needs to interact with three different applications, enter the appropriate information into each application get gets the information.
To automate the above process with Blue Prism, a developer uses Object Studio to create a Visual Business Object for the three different applications. To communicate with the three different application, each VBO uses suitable interface: the Windows interface, the mainframe interface, and the HTML interface, respectively. Each VBO performs the same operations which the call centre operator performs on this application. For example, the VBO communicates with the client/server application might contain a login operation, an operation that enters the customer’s name, another operation that retrieves the customer code, and a logout operation.
