Angular vs React js vs Vue js

Angular is a JavaScript open-source front-end complete structural framework that is mainly used to develop interactive and dynamic single-page web applications using HTML as a template language and TypeScript. It also supports the (MVC) programming structure and implements core, optional functionality as a set of TypeScript libraries that can be imported into the apps.

Angular provides features including templating, two-way binding, modularization, RESTful API handling, dependency injection, and AJAX handling. Angular is developed, supported by Google which was initially released in 2010 and helps in scaling up the Angular ecosystem.

React JS

React is an open source JavaScript library and front end framework developed by Facebook in 2014 which allows you to build UI components which are self-contained for easy maintenance and improvement. It facilitates the creation of interactive User Interfaces using component based architecture. It also makes the code easier, reusable to understand and launch. React Javascript framework uses server-side rendering to provide a flexible, performance-oriented solution.

React uses JavaScript, JSX and is the best choice to develop personalized applications with multiple events using shareable components. It can be packed with other programming libraries which is ideal for modern web development. It is based on virtual DOM which is easy to learn with highly detailed documentation. It provides support for server side rendering and is perfect for managing heavy loads.

Vue Js is a community driven open-source progressive JavaScript framework which is a standalone project is commonly referred to as Vue for building user interfaces (UIs) and single-page applications. This framework uses “high decoupling”, allowing developers to progressively create user interfaces and offers more tools with support from the core team. It is also used both for desktop and mobile app development. Vue is referred to as view in English which corresponds to the traditional Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture.

Angular, React and Vue are all highly popular JavaScript libraries and frameworks that help developers build complex, reactive and modern user interfaces for the web. Among the three frameworks, Angular has been the most evolved JavaScript framework almost a decade before in 2009. Three of these Javascript frameworks are the leading technologies for front-end web app development. Angular and React are popular in which Vue also shows substantial shift in popularity.

When comparing these frameworks, there is no best framework or library here. Developers analyse the advantages and disadvantages of each framework to select their choice which also depends upon the project size, complexities, features, performance, etc. Let’s see the strengths and weaknesses of these frameworks and the key reasons to choose these frameworks for web app development.

Among the three frameworks, AngularJS is the most evolved Javascript framework with a multitude of updates that added features, capabilities, and its primary objective is making single-page web apps easier. Every subsequent Angular version release incorporates advanced technologies and features including the introduction of Typescript programming language for coding which is widely used by large companies across the world.

Angular has a lot of built-in features and it is the biggest framework of the three whereas Vue has some built-in features and React is very minimalistic and three frameworks show the same performance. When we see the languages, Angular uses TypeScript and splits HTML + TypeScript logic apart, React uses JavaScript and a feature called JSX, Vue uses regular JavaScript and splits HTML + JavaScript logic apart. React is a bit more popular than Angular, which in turn is getting used more than Vue.

Angular helps in controlling all the activities of UI with a full set of tools which helps in building re-usable user interfaces. Vue is a framework with built-in state management which sits between React and Angular which is not as “big” as Angular but includes more features than react. All the three frameworks involve building user interfaces by combining re-usable components. The reason for the popularity of Angular when compared with others is that it enables secure binding of data to HTML elements and explores a way to build HTML+CSS modular components.

The main advantage of Angular is its features like two-way data binding and dependency injection. React helps in developing Modular and cohesive components, which make them reusable and reduces the development time. The UI and behaviour of the components are dealt together in react whereas handled separately in Angular in which the components are referred as directives and in vue, it is combined as part of the components which is highly customizable.

Angular is the complete framework which is suitable for large companies that uses TypeScript with a deep learning curve. React is a good choice for frontend JavaScript frameworks, start-ups and has the ability to integrate, provide flexibility among developers. Vue is the newest among the group but with best performance which is effective for companies which prefer simplicity and flexibility.

When evaluating the project scope, requirement, any of the three frameworks can be selected for front end development when considering the advantages and disadvantages based on the situation.
