1. What is Amazon Web Services?
AWS (Amazon Web Services) is a secured cloud services platform that offers compute power, database storage, content delivery and various other functionalities. To be more specific, it is a large bundle of cloud based services.
2. What are the Main Components of AWS?
The Main components of AWS are- Amazon Cluster.
- Storage, Databases.
- Management and security.
- Networks, Analytics.
- Application services.
- Implementation and management.
3. Explain what S3 is all about?
Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) is storage for the Internet which is designed to make web-scale computing easier for developers. Access control defines who can access objects and buckets within Amazon S3, and the type of access (for example, READ and WRITES).
4. What is AMI?
Advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) is an integrated system of smart meters, communications networks, and data management systems that enables two-way communication between utilities and customers.
5. What is the relationship between an instance and AMI?
An Amazon Machine Image (AMI) is a template that contains a software configuration (for example, an operating system, an application server, and applications). From an AMI, you launch an instance, which is a copy of the AMI running as a virtual server in the cloud.
6. What is an EIP?
EIP stands for an '"Ethereum Improvement Proposal." When it comes to open-source software development, anyone can add code to a repository. But to have that new code included means getting the proper approval.
7. What is CloudFront?
Amazon CloudFront is a fast content delivery network (CDN) service that securely delivers data, videos, applications, and APIs to customers globally with low latency, high transfer speeds, all within a developer-friendly environment.
8. What is the procedure to send a request to Amazon S3?
You can send requests to Amazon S3 using the REST API or the AWS SDK (see Sample Code and Libraries ) wrapper libraries that wrap the underlying Amazon S3 REST API, simplifying your programming tasks. Every interaction with Amazon S3 is either authenticated or anonymous.

9. What are key-pairs in AWS?
A key pair, consisting of a private key and a public key, is a set of security credentials that you use to prove your identity when connecting to an instance. Amazon EC2 stores the public key, and you store the private key.
10. What is SimpleDB?
Amazon SimpleDB provides a simple web services interface to create and store multiple data sets, query your data easily, and return the results. The service manages infrastructure provisioning, hardware and software maintenance, replication and indexing of data items, and performance tuning.
11. Is the property of broadcast or multicast supported by Amazon VPC?
AWS VPCs have not supported multicast. The AWS engineers have recently developed a proof-of-concept multicast overlay, that has support for IGMP snooping.
12. How many IP addresses are allowed for each account in AWS?
When you create a VPC, you must specify an IPv4 CIDR block for the VPC. The allowed block size is between a /16 netmask (65,536 IP addresses) and /28 netmask (16 IP addresses). After you've created your VPC, you can associate secondary CIDR blocks with the VPC.
13. What is meant by Edge location?
An edge location is where end users access services located at AWS, the cloud computing division of US-headquartered Amazon. They are located in most of the major cities around the world and are specifically used by CloudFront (CDN) to distribute content to end users to reduce latency.
14. What is Snowball?
Snowball is a petabyte-scale data transport solution that uses secure appliances to transfer large amounts of data into and out of the AWS cloud. Using Snowball addresses common challenges with large-scale data transfers including high network costs, long transfer times, and security concerns.
15. What is subnet?
A public subnet is a subnet that's associated with a route table that has a route to an internet gateway. A private subnet with a size /24 IPv4 CIDR block (example: 10.0). This connects the VPC to the internet and to other AWS services. Instances with private IPv4 addresses in the subnet range.
16. What is AWS CloudTrail?
AWS CloudTrail is a service that enables governance, compliance, operational auditing, and risk auditing of your AWS account. CloudTrail supports logging events for many AWS services. The specifics for each supported service can be found in that service's guide.
